It's a good deal for OLED, the issue is the 8gb of RAM assuming you can't upgrade it. I won't say that limits it to media consumption only, but it does limit it pretty substantially.

The 256gb SSD is also lackluster but I'm sure that can be upgraded.

Otherwise it's fantastic. I'm surprised it's the 90hz version.

I've just checked at asus.com - it says "8GB DDR4 on board, Total system memory upgradeable to:16GB" so it's very good offer

It does say that, but the service manual does not show how to add/replace RAM.

There's a section on replacing motherboard but also doesn't mention ram

there's a laptop diagram showing the connectors /slots. ram slot is missing

so I'm leaning towards no ram slot

I have this laptop from a previous walmart deal for $500+tax.

The screen is amazing and the touchpad is great and has the NumberPad feature which I've found to be very useful if there's no dedicated numpad on the keyboard.

Has Thunderbolt 4 and can charge via the USB-C

Battery life is 8 hours for web browsing, videos, on debloated win10 2021 ltsc

Yes the RAM is 8GB dual channel and cannot be upgraded, that's the only downside. I've got in the habit of closing tabs I don't need, and the low RAM doesn't affect me.

Also, this does NOT have a fingerprint reader, even though its advertised as such. That's an optional upgrade that's not included in these models even though every piece of documentation says they have it

I've also used it with an eGPU to play Halo and other games, with no issues. Its a great laptop, even better $60 cheaper

Confirmed no RAM slot. 8 GB is definitely not enough for me because I game and code.

If your only use for this laptop is for light work and media consumption, then it'll be fine. E-sports title with low settings will work too, as the cpu is pretty good and the integrated gpu is sufficient, and 8gb ram is enough (for cs, rocket league, valorant, etc).

The OLED laptop deals are just starting to hit the sub-$500 price point. If you've been waiting for a good price the market is finally starting to deliver.

Of course, this isn't the only deal so defining your desired features and setting your an alert (as I have) could be worthwhile.

Good luck!
Jon
