They are giving it away to pump it's statistics/rankings to fool people into thinking it's actually worth the price. Kindle titles will do the same thing.
no harm in getting it free. if you review it be sure to mention what you paid though.
I downloaded it to see if it is worth it. Maybe for toddlers to keep them busy for a little. $39 is laughable. Maybe $2.99 MAAAAAX. There's nothing special here. You just construct stuff and it is all step by step. No creativity or anything. Just busy work.

No idea if this app is any good, but it has no intitial/upfront cost, no In App Purchases (IAPs) AND does not collect any data on you. Now THAT'S a free app!

100% this and It happens often (Amazon free Kindle books we all get off here same thing).
Looks like you get to make pretend food in this app. Everything from Bubble gum milkshakes to Toasted Marshmellows. I guess this is better than buying the food apps separately - they actually sell a cookie Maker app separately with in-app purchases, and presumably it is included in this edition.
I'm sure the app is fun, but just don't consider it (or any other app by this developer) educational.

I couldn't follow the link due to my Adblock setting so I searched in the App Store, and found a free Foodabee app. It turns out the free app actually has a few hundred reviews and comes with a subscription model of about $30 to $40 per year.
This can be fun but as one reviewer pointed out, most of the food here are not healthy. The unlocked app does feel like a paid advert listed here.
