People spending $100 on a jug is why inflation is where it is. The last 1 gallon jug I bought was a plastic Coleman one [walmart.com] that cost under $8. I know people who could never have anything less than a Yeti to support their public image of being affluent and successful. The same people will also be able to tell you why Yeti's are so much better by quoting the Yeti marketing material verbatim. It's a little sad. If you were to remove all the bs marketing costs from this type of product you'd be looking at at least half this price. Yeti stuff IS good, but it's also overpriced,

Amen brother! I have some Yeti stuff, I paid for my coffee mug and my can koozie, but years ago, I found my tall tumbler abandoned in a parking lot and I'm a sucker for strays, so I brought it home, bleached it numerous times and its a happy member of my household to this day.i have a love / hate with them.

Saved me over $30, great deal. Don't be a hater, go buy cheap garbage until you have to actually work full-time outside and understand the need for quality. Cheap stuff doesn't hold ice a full shift, this holds ice for 3 days in the mid 90s.

Your plastic cooler is not an apt comparison to a vacuum insulated stainless one.

I recently bought the Ozark Trail 1 gallon stainless steel jug and it works really well. It was $30. I'd probably buy this Yeti if it were $50-60. Yeti stuff is top tier, no doubt.

Agree, the Ozark is a much better value at $100 less than the Yeti, same basic structure, and bonus feature of not losing the cap.

What kind of shifts are you working that require you being out in the elements for three straight days though?

If you actually didn't come home every night, and go days without access to a freezer sure it makes sense. Otherwise it is just overkill.

Once again you're missing the point. Yeti rarely goes on sale, let alone 25% off.
Maybe you could post a cheap low quality deal that suits your needs instead of hating?
