    I had been a fan of this movie since I watched it at the theater years ago. All that time and I hadn't read the book. Finally read it just recently. My god the book is boring. It's 90% going to class. Sure the movie left a few things out but at least some things happened. If the movie had been a more faithful adaptation of the book then we would not be talking about it here.

    This looks to be the previous 4K transfer with Dolby Vision added, and what looks to be some new bonus material.. I have the original 20th anniversary 4K transfer, but will pick this up for the Dolby Vision, and hope it was properly done.

    Verhoeven did such great work here , the satire is beautiful to see. This is all the more relevant now that major countries are taking steps toward becoming the pictured dystopia. I would buy this if I didn't already own a couple different versions. Looking forward to the 50th anniversary edition of V's 1987 Robocop.

    All that boring stuff is pretty well covered in the movie, all with Rico going from a someone enlisting to get his citizenship to becoming an ape. Sure we miss some stuff with them bouncing around in suits and blasting skinnies, but the political stuff was captured pretty well in the movie.

    The book was awesome! Worth a read for everybody when you are 18ish. Lots of real life lessons in it which was the author's point.

    The main theme is you can live any way you want, but if you want to affect society you must serve first. Doesn't matter how much money, or land you have if you don't serve in some capacity you can't vote on greater society issues.

    You can serve in many capacities depending on your abilities, but if you are not very bright there is a future for you in the Mobile Infantry.

    It felt like watching Starcraft the movie. While playing some of the game's campaigns, I imagined the movie scene where the infantry ("infantry made me the man I am today!") were on Planet P and surrounded by all of the bugs (zerglings?).
    Speaking of video games, if you wanted to play a video game version of Starship Troopers and don't know, there's a series which is basically a copy of it called Earth Defense Force. It's mindless fun, bug galore. The latest installment, EDF 6, is coming out this month on PS4/PS5.
