Don't see the benefit of Samsung OLEDs when they don't support Dolby Vision. Especially when they're so much more expensive.

QD-OLED tv's have much brighter individual colors than a WOLED does because of it's pixel structure. Specific colors get hundreds of nits brighter than on a WOLED. Dolby Vision is nice to have, and it's ridiculous Samsung doesn't include it, but you can get the same panel tech in the Sony A95K with Dolby Vision. The Samsung OLEDs are actually priced cheaper the LG G2 line and have better performance overall.

This is a QD-OLED with a different pixel sub-structure... Overall, a much brighter OLED panel

I used to have a 65" E7. At 3 years old It had a little burn that was so slight and it had to be in a full red screen to see it. Even then it was tough to see
The Tv was still very watchable, but I thought since I had like 12 more months on the Geek Squad protection plan I would make a claim
This was during Covid. I emailed them pictures and they sent me a gift card for my full original purchase price. They did not come and pick up the E7 after they paid the claim
Because prices had fallen, since I originally bought the E7, I was able to buy a G1 and another 5 year warranty
Then I sold the broken E7 on CL for $450. So new TV with a 5 year warranty and money in pocket to spare

Its very difficult to sell a TV you cant ship
You can try CL or facebook marketplace but be prepared for a lot of low ball and non serious offers

I am VERY tempted on this Samsung S95B...but the thought of trying to sell my LG G1 is just not something I find appealing
I have a 65 C7 that I babied - 50% OLED for 4.5 years. I had ridiculous burn in. Only 4000 hours on the set. I started to read that LG was covering panels on, at least, the older models for four years. I was just outside of that threshold. I whined enough and their liaison team just replaced my panel about two weeks ago. Burn in was real with these sets, even on lightly used ones. That's a risk you take w/ plasma, W-OLED, QD-OLED, and RGB OLED.

Should be interesting to see how Sony prices the A95K in the months to come.
Sony is much more resistant to pricing discounts. Despite Samsung being shady - this set is 98% of the quality of the Sony at 46% of the price. Dolby Vision is great, but there are only two TVs on the planet that can produce QD-OLED picture quality - the S95B and the A95K...that's it. That's the field. LG has some better refinement in some areas, but they cannot compete on color volume and individual color brightness and I'm not sure they have any way to do so in the near future.

Because LG OLEDs have horrible brightness that can't even take advantage of Dolby vision anyway. Complaining about not having Dolby vision on a TV that peaks at like 700 nits is hilarious.

Completely agree
If you want Dolby Vision, with no drop in picture quality, you have to pay the $1500 more for the Sony

I spent time in person looking at this set before deciding to buy the c1 in a larger form factor. The Samsung colors look way over saturated - I think in a few years they will have this more refined like Lg does on the woled, but for me it was a no go - unless you're watching this in a super bright room or have real issues with sdr brightness - probably worth waiting for the tech to mature (or pay the premium for the Sony set)

The larger size is the likely the only large advantage LG has. You can change the color modes - the fact remains QD-OLEDs are brighter, cover more color spectrum and volume on both old measures and the newer BT REC 2020, offer better viewing angles, and have very similar black levels.

I have a 55 CX that I use as a monitor/tv for my desktop and PS5. The C7 occupies my living room. I am tempted to move the C7 into the bedroom and replace it with this for living room watching. This is very, very enticing - but I may wait just a little longer. I'm concerned with the number of panels Samsung has for the S95B and whether or not they will be phasing out this model soon.

Never again from Samsung. Got burned twice with the 65" QLEDS from the last deal. They arrive looking like they got thrown into and out of the truck, and had shattered screens. They use some janky shipping company that just DGAF.

Does Samsung price match itself. I bought the 65" when it was $2079 few weeks ago.

Bought tv on 7/12, delivered on 7/20. Shot down for the price match because their policy seems to be 15 days from delivery date. Paid $240 more that this, but they had a $200 Samsung credit at the time, so it is what it is. If you bought this towards the end of the last thread on it, you might still stand a chance, but contact them ASAP.

Also outside the return window, but got 7 day added. I have an LG OLED from 2016. It took over 6 years to happen, but I did get some burn in from my Denon receiver displaying the mute speaker symbol. I didn't mute THAT often or very long, but it happened. Also got the word "Dish" from Dish Network on screen display when you bring up menu. Certainly didn't have that up except a few times a week for short periods checking the guide and recording setup. Given age, I am out of luck there.

So, regarding this tv, I am a videophile and I don't ask that my tv be stressed in being good with light in the room. Most of the time, I can get room pretty dark. I have been struggling for weeks with the tv's OS as can't say it is better than LG's at all. Changing inputs, different picture modes etc.. can't get 1303 firmware for whatever reason last time I checked. It is bright and colors make for great picture, but not sure as accurate as my old LG. Stats might say different, but I am interested in real looking picture, not real good TV picture if you know what I mean.

Still a great value vs other choices out there in OLED if you can live with 65" limit (SO wanted to go bigger this time), no DV etc.. I can tell you that viewing the Wrath of Man scene where they rob the armored truck, the blacks still get crushed using the tv app. They get crushed using Roku as well, but viewing them on my Shield via the S95B shows a ton of missing details, so I know it can be done.

Is it a RoKu problem, TV issue, and if so, then why would shield improve picture? I'm assuming the shield also shows a better picture that Samsung's built-in apps? Would you recommend using shield for other models too? Sorry for all the questions, but you seem to know few more things than I!
