Don't see the benefit of Samsung OLEDs when they don't support Dolby Vision. Especially when they're so much more expensive.

QD-OLED tv's have much brighter individual colors than a WOLED does because of it's pixel structure. Specific colors get hundreds of nits brighter than on a WOLED. Dolby Vision is nice to have, and it's ridiculous Samsung doesn't include it, but you can get the same panel tech in the Sony A95K with Dolby Vision. The Samsung OLEDs are actually priced cheaper the LG G2 line and have better performance overall.

This is a QD-OLED with a different pixel sub-structure... Overall, a much brighter OLED panel

What student can afford a $2k television?!
I'm guessing the student that's no longer the student, aka just graduated, landed a job, haven't felt the pain of the student loans completely because of the interest freeze, and their edu email is still active for a little while after they graduated. It's not like they yank the plug the day they graduate. I can see an scenario where they graduated, hopefully landed a job, and want to flex on that EDU email while it's still there since they weren't able to benefit from it while they were attending.
Another one is the person who changed careers, they aren't necessarily broke, went back to school for a career change or to trade up.
People who got family with money. people who saved up, shoot maybe they got some money left over from the student loans because they over-estimated that years cost, aka the one year the books assigned were cheaper, or they went with some of those free libre books.

they cant. they have no good paying jobs. hence them being students. samsung is depending on rich parents.
Current Engineer with high paying job here. Currently also a student getting their masters. also currently watching the new Prey movie on the 85" QN90A!

Continuing education y'all, not all of us stop at one degree. Also, most people keep their student IDs active post graduation so they can get the benefits. Stop hatin. Buying the 65" tomorrow.

Yesterday was my last day to request a return and while it took asking twice, customer care offered me a $240 refund to the lower price. I received confirmation of my refund this morning and still should receive the $200 store credit from the last promo. Talk to support and ask for a price adjustment if you bought this at the higher price.

Also, don't sleep on this TV. The picture is absolutely stunning and sometimes too bright. Do I wish it was a 77? Yes. But fortunately or unfortunately I can't fit larger than a 65.

Funny you say that. Part of me is *very* upset that our wall unit is only wide enough for a 65" TV. But part of me is *very* thankful for that! 😄

Yeah same thing for me, 65" is the max I can fit in my living room. Anything bigger will be too close to the couch that is less than 7 feet away. Tried to justify a 75" 😞

Same dilemma for me. I can't fit more than 65 on my wall. Infuriating and, somewhat, calming as no other option can exist lol.

Is the 55" on sale by any chance? If so might be worth me hopping on with their customer service to fix my edu account since I'm more interested in that size.
