Are the Witcher games like one of those where you need to discover the different key combinations to get the fancy attacks
Or, does it play like Dragon Siege and the like?
Combat starts somewhat basic, but you can upgrade perks for better combat. You slash with light or strong slashes, can use signs(spells) and extra weapons(bomb and such) for combat. Also can dodge, parry or block.
But yes, it would be more like dragon seige, based on a quick search of a combat vid. Though I'm only talking about Witcher 3, haven't played the other two. But they should also be similar.
Playing through Cyberpunk now on steam deck, and it's performing almost flawlessly. Great performance and hardly any glitches, certainly none that were game-breaking. It's in a really good state right now, and really fun
Who in Duck's name would prefer any launcher, much less Epic?
I prefer my games to be on launchers.
Just makes everything easier.
Also never understood the hate for epic. In the few years their launcher has been around it's gotten me 100x the value Steam has. And essentially it's the same thing as steam with a different UI.

probably because they didn't have a funtioning shopping cart for years while still getting exclusive titles to their launcher
people don't have problems with other launchers so long as they are not trash.... and unfortunately most of them are
thought this was a freebie giveaway at first. Now I'm wondering whether I should get Witcher 3 on Switch or for my laptop... Laptop - better graphics, or the portability (and higher cost) on the Switch so I can play on planes.

If your laptop is decent, I would go with that. Switch version is a good port, but it's still not nearly as good as other platforms.
I bought Witcher 3 a long time ago on GOG but it was the base game. I never played much of it but I'm planning on getting the Steam Deck so I might as well get this with all the DLC so I can play it on there. Been meaning to beat it for a long time now.

I have it on both and trust me, it looks terrible on the switch.

not discounting the game's botched release but it's been a long time and many patches have been released. it's a functioning game.

If you don't want to "reward" then why would you buy it at all?
And if you don't want to reward them you can't justify buying basically any AAA game as there is no dev with a spotless record.
Personally I think the bitching about "crunch" with game devs is absolutely asinine.
Just makes everything easier.

is the pedestrian AI still worse than GTA San Andreas?
