A vacuum cleaner is not a space shuttle. You just need decent suction, a good brush if you have carpet, and good exhaust filtering. It's not rocket science like the high end vacuum industry would have people believe. If you want a good canister vacuum with a powerhead, don't get caught up in the hype, look at Kenmore Elite machines.
I believe in customers "right to repair" and avoid companies that go against that philosophy. Kenmore Elite vacuums have great power and features, they cost less than Miele and you can easily find parts for them when needed.
Also if I understand correctly, you can't just add a powerhead because the Miele models sold without a powerhead don't have the wiring in place to add one. If you want the powerhead I believe you need to buy a model that comes with it. At least in the case of Miele machines. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit: my home is all hardwood and tile. I bought the Sebo Premium Parquet Brush and the Turbo Handheld Brush

my pick after doing all the digging recently was the Miele Complete C3 Kona. On Amazon, you can get one open box from a reputable vacuum dealer for $790 (normally $1100).

Kenmore elite vacuums are known as Panasonic elsewhere in the world. Which is good to know bc Panasonic is typically great at copying other designs and making them less expensive and more reliable. Kinda like genesis/ Hyundai lately.

You are correct. I was thinking about saving up for the brilliant or C3 complete homecare with the SEB 228 electro plus head.

Miele parts have part numbers that you can order for yourself from vacuum dealers or eBay. Just make sure you have the right torx screwdriver to open up the machine. Super easy to fix anything on mieles
