Not quite sure how to post this, but I was at my local costco this morning and they were still selling the oculus quest 2 256gb version with carrying case for $399. It is not even showing available on line and maybe this is while supplies last, or case by case instore only. I hardly call it a slick deal but it is $100 less then the current price plus the friend referral is still on and now you get beat saber for free through 12/31. Your mileage may vary but I figured I would share. I bought one for my daughter before the 1st but I may go and see if the will do a virtual return and re-buy for the beat saber. I was able to take advantage of the refer a friend though so that was a total of $60 credit that was quick and easy..

How did you use the refer a friend when buying from costco? I thought it was only when buying from oculus?

It does not matter who you buy the headset from as long as it is new and it is activated on a new account that does not have an oculus.

You refer the email address they are going to register with. Then when they buy a headset, as long as they use that same email address/account to first sign in, you get the bonus.

Loved my oculus quest 2, and I'm selling it bc they got heavy handed with facebook and mainly bc they changed the product name to meta quest 2.

259gb storage on the oculus is honestly unnecessary. The headset being the same resolution all around you'd be handing over 200 dollars for pretty much nothing.

The headset is pretty mediocre at best. Personally haven't touched it after using a few times and being disappointed with the graphics.

Why would that be a reason to sell it lol? You're selling something you loved because of a name change?

They're removing the Facebook requirement from it...

Facebook didn't FORCE them to sell - they chose to. I'm not a huge fan of the company, but I think it has certainly helped in keeping prices down and driving more people to the market, which in-turn is making the system better as a whole. They're not the only game in town, but you won't find a better bang-for-your-buck headset - that also can be played 100% wireless.

If you've got the pc power, I highly suggest not bothering with the q2 beat saber and going with the steam version. The beast saber mod makes it infinately more fun with a ton of free content. Otherwise you're stuck with their fairly short edm catalog, or paying a buttload for premium content.

Doubt it if it's steam redeemable with the discount coming through meta. Full price via steam has major advantages, I wouldn't buy it for q2 unless it was $5. BS is not known for going on sale as much as other software.
