Save being obtuse for someone else. People such as equalme were clearly trying to apply the promo code to the 2TB. Telling him that it worked for you, when it clearly doesn't with the 2TB, was asinine and unhelpful. This is my final reply.

For anyone wondering, the promo code does not apply to the 2TB. Full stop.

Thank you to OP for the deal. Picked one up.

Yeah that works. Have one of these in one of my PS5 but is this nvme better than WD? The one that went on sale couple of weeks ago.
I haven't been paying super close attention lately but the wd 850 and Samsung 980 pro were neck and neck for 1st and this Kingston was pretty solidly 3rd amongst all the others. Samsung runs kind of hot though

This line is discontinued replaced by the Fury Renegade which is more expensive without much of a difference, so grab them while you can because main retailers have stopped carrying these.

This is in the WD SN850, 980 Pro class in performance. but cheaper.

Even the 1tb at $102 is a good deal.

These are also good in laptops with low power and heat characteristics and with Phison controllers nicely play with Macs and Hackintoshes which can take m.2 cards.

As a 2nd drive in a PS5, even much slower read/write speeds has very little impact on load times or overall performance:

I am building a new computer with motherboard supporting PCIe 4. First time buying M.2 SSD. Can the speed difference be felt for everyday use when compared to PCIe 3.0. And what's the sweet spot for cost/performance for M.2 SSD right now? I am debating if this is worth the premium. Also don't need it immediately and not sure if I would wait util black friday if the price is falling steeply at the moment especially for bleeding edge class storage.

I just built as well. The consensus is unless you're constantly reading/writing large amounts of data you will not notice 4.0 differences in normal or gaming scenarios. A good 3.0 SSD with DRAM cache is plenty. If you have the cash though to spare why not, I would suggest putting your OS on it.

I'm new to building so just my feedback but search around.

Micron just gave warning for the next 2 quarters today. I have a feeling there is going to be more rams and ssds deals in the next few weeks/months

It's literally less than 1 second difference for each loading (when gaming). Rarely more than a second to two.

You will likely only see the difference by running synthetic benchmarks.

As far as 2TB goes, this is a good deal. If you're using it for a PS5, it won't be any faster than even the slowest SSDs, though, because no games use the full bandwidth of SSDs yet. So don't expect some crazy fast load times, compared to the stock SSD. At most, it MIGHT load games 1 or 2 seconds faster than even one with a speed of 3,200. However, if games during this generation end up using that speed later, you'll be future-proofed. There's a good video that Digital Foundry did a while back. I have a WD Black SN750 SE with a speed of 3600 and it will load games just as fast as this.

no one is buying this expecting its going to be faster because no one has bought one of the cheaper ones and went "hmm this sucks lets get a faster one".

literally everyone buying this is doing so because they're tired of uninstalling stuff on the onboard ssd.

Probably can't feel the difference. I upgraded from a 4th gen core i5 and sata SSD and felt the difference immediately.

Fantastic heatsink. I paid $230 on a previous FP different drive, so this is a great deal and that is a great heatsink that fits perfect in ps5.
