80 cents more for the c186 "sniper" model of the same drive, and you don't have to deal with lost caps.

OTG adapter. It effectively creates an extra USB port.

Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/AuviPal-Mi...136&sr=8-5

Totally a use case thing.

Lots of PCs don't have a native SD reader, or are bootable from SD card.
There's no SD slot in my car for my music library, or on my fire stick or my Blink camera controller.

SD (& micro) cards are super slick way to move and store info for sure. Crazy that I have a tb of data on something the size of my pinky finger nail.

May end up being a decent drive - if the flash controller is good, speed may be fast.

But a bit of mystery meat - never know how it's gonna come in!
i seriously thought all this in different words in my head while reviewing product lol

Do people still use flash drives?

I stopped using them about 5-6 years ago. SD cards are easier to transport and I can use them for multiple purposes, like cameras/Switch/phone/etc. Anything that doesn't fit inside an SD card can go inside a X-TB SSD.
I'm still using them, I mainly use it for my old PC that being repurposed as NAS server, pi hole, etc. I found the easiest way of installing its OS is by using flash drives. I also keep one for storing multiple OS images (ventoy).

And it wasn't too long ago that only 1.44MB could fit on a 5.25" floppy!

These are interesting. If you review the other flash drive options on the page, they have flash drives that double as box cutter/bottle opener and one that is a protractor/magnifying glass. Not sure how practical that really becomes but I like the dual-purpose mindset.

Holy cow those are cool, thanks for pointing them out totally missed it. Kinda like the spark rgb one that doubles as a "fuel" gauge to see how much space is left on the drive.

I used them for anything which I need to hand off to someone.
I have a 256gb with both USB-C & USB-A. It is great for pulling from a phone, especially a Pixel which has no card slot. It is less than half the size of a normal flash drive. If I had to choose between this drive and micro SD cards for transferring files & storing outside of a device, I would definitely choose this, no question. It's easier to grab, easier to hold, it doesn't feel fragile and is really tiny.

It's been this price since June. Not really deal imho.
Couldn't disagree more. Just because they've been the same price for a while doesn't mean it's not a good deal. So unless you can find a better price, this IS a good deal.

You already know it isn't. These are great for cheap media drives if you don't mind the insanely long transfer times. I load them up with mp3s for the car and stuff like that

That's the space on a 3 1/4 floppy. The 5.25" holds no more than 1.2mb

I second this, I got my 256GB samsung bar for like $35, and it's sooooo fast, and reliable. Worth the premium price in every regard if you're pushing large files, and need them now. However, these are cheaper, and might be a much better value for average joe use.
