Hi,

I've been using this monitor for a mixed use home office / xbox series x and I find it awesome. I'm getting a second one for a dual screen set up as it's VESA compatible.

It has 2 hdmi and 1 display port so I leave all the devices plugged in and just switch using the screen controls.

According to ccc, price is usually between $300-350 and just dropped to $247.7 today.

Update: Newegg also offer a similar pricing https://www.newegg.com/lg-27ul500...6824025944 > $249.99

I don't understand... Why would anyone ever want a lower pixel density? You can always scale as needed.

Anyways, my only complaint of this monitor (and ones of similar design) is that the ports point straight back instead of downwards or sideways. This design makes it a little more difficult to have monitors on desks that are against a wall and increases the chance of breaking a port if a cable ever gets snagged or pushed against something.

If I use a 4K monitor with a 1440p monitor would it look like shit?
Do you mean the would 2k would look better than the 4k?

I'm hoping to move to dual 4k with some scaling for my old eyes. I see recommendations for this configuration by other devs.

Some people say they actually use 32" 4k unscaled. They must have really good eyesight..
If you're ok with 15" FHD unscaled, you should be ok with 32" 4K unscaled. It's the same pixel density.

Right, it's VA. Why is it not good for productivity? I started googling it and besides maybe a bit worse viewing angle on VA did not find any reasonable explanation.

Good point, and I can see how 32" 4K unscaled works for a lot of people. Though, when undocked, I use my laptop screen at a closer viewing distance than my desktop monitor, and when I have it further away, I adjust scaling to compensate (16" MacBook Pro). One of the nice things about high DPI displays is you can choose scaling on the fly depending on what you're doing and your preferences. One of the things we lost going from CRT to LCD monitors initially (with CRTs adjusting resolution rather than scaling). You can do scaling on a lower DPI monitors of course, it just wouldn't be useful at desktop viewing distances.
