Deal History
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
Those comparisons aren't necessarily appropriate to this particular model. This isn't a high-end office chair model at a slashed-price. This is a reduced feature/functionality model from an otherwise top tier brand at an appropriate price.
The Steelcase and Herman Miller models that typically get compared in conversations about great office chairs tend to range from $700-1400.
Good luck!

A Back That Flexes with You
Steelcase Series 1 features a LiveBack(TM) flexor system that conforms to your body and moves with you to support the spine as you change postures. The optional adjustable lumbar support lets you dial in comfort even further.
As you sit and move, Steelcase Series 1 responds automatically to provide comfortable resistance as you recline. One additional tension setting gives you the option to add more recline resistance to match your preference. Series 1's adjustments also allow you to lock the back in an upright position.

I got one of these decent chair I use an extra seat cushion on it. Works fine for me as I work on a. Computer all day. I will say my coworker tried one and it killed his back. He is more heavyset not sure if that has anything to do with it. I only paid 150$ for the chair so I can't really complain much.
The lumbar support appears to be only minimally adjustable.

Look through the reviews from people who posted images. Pretty rough.
Office chair reviews aren't always representative, but it does at least seem that based upon reviews and Q&A that the aforementioned lumbar support is also the weakest link for this chair.

That is indeed the price point at which a chair like this, with limited features/adjustments but otherwise reasonable construction quality, becomes at least a solid deal even if it isn't a perfect chair for every user.

I have the Leap and my partner has this chair. She is 4" 11' and 100 lbs. This chair is perfect for her as the Leap is too big for her despite being more comfy and the Leap is also heavier to lean back on. She finds this chair extremely comfortable. I would say the chair is worth the sale price but if I had to pay MSRP I might look elsewhere.

How did you get it for $150? That's an amazing price.

I have this in Scarlet Red - bought it for $330.93 New back in April. Frame quality and mechanism appears very high quality - when you open the package, all of the gears that makes the seat slide forward/back (parallel to floor) is fully exposed - and it's literally all cast metal. My only gripe is the fabric on the seat seems much-much thinner compared to the ones we are issued at the office - so I'm not too sure about the fabric's durability because even the Steelcase we have at the office (has thick fabric) have holes in them.
