- series x version is $70. There being two versions I'll assume this one will not upscale or work with series x?

Actually there are 2 versions for Playstation but Xbox there is really only one version. If you get the Xbox One version it will still include the upscaled Series X version. I just traded in my Xbox copy last month.

So the xbox version isn't cross gen and you will still need to upgrade to take full advantage of series X graphics like the PS4 to PS5 version?

Negitive, it will give you both the Series X version and Xbox One version depending on what system you insert the disc in.

So if i put in the game in the series x I will get the enhance graphics with ray tracing and all the extra stuff. What i am seeing from Microsoft is that there is an option to upgrade for $10 to the cross gen.

If you buy thr ps4 version > pay the $10 upgrade fee on the playstation store, can you play the ps5 version without the ps4 disk inside?

you still need to insert the disc to play, unless you get the digital copy and upgrade to cross gen

This is wrong. This is the Xbox One version of the game that is playable on Series X. If you want to upgrade the game to the Series X version, it's $10. You're thinking of the Cross-gen edition, which costs $70.
