Do you have a good grinder? You can get by with a relatively cheap grinder like a Baratza Encore or Capresso Infinity for drip, but for espresso you should be budgeting around $300 minimum for a grinder. Do you like drip coffee? The Technavorm makes an amazing pot; for $200 I'd go for it and enjoy an upgrade in your morning coffee that will last for many many years while you make decisions / save for your espresso journey.
Phenomenal deal on a phenomenal coffee maker!
If the Bunn is working well I wouldn't upgrade. The Moccamaster probably wouldn't do anything to produce a different tasting cup. The main selling point is easy to clean and last forever, but if you already have a reliable machine I'd stick with that until it starts giving you an issue.

So please go easy on me for asking… I have a BUNN coffeemaker and have had one for a very long time. Is this worth a $200 price tag as an upgrade or should I bide my time to get one of the premium espresso machines? I understand those are two different desires but it is truly a question I've had.

I really want one of these but having a hard time justifying it, difference in coffee taste/brew would help me determine that.

Thanks for any constructive thoughts 😃

I do have a OXO burr grinder that is serving me well at this stage of my coffee game! Thanks for the suggestions, I will definitely keep the higher end grinder in mind when I go to upgrade to an espresso machine.

Makes me go hmmmm in regards to the Mochamaster….

Thanks Chris for your input as well! These last two helpful comments are exactly why I've been on the fence 😃😃!

I might ride it out and put this money towards an espresso machine later even if a marginal improvement in taste I think I can wait. Until like you said maybe the BUNN goes down.

What model Bunn do you have? Depending on your current machine, the Mochamaster may be a slight upgrade as he points out, or a large one if you Bunn isn't hitting the right temps

I have a Bunn machine with the thermal carafe. It is over 10 years old and still works perfectly. The little flap that you open to pour water in had lost one of the little nubs and doesn't swing open and closed anymore, I have to just place it on to start the brew cycle. I clean the carafe with Arm & Hammer super washing soda, which is apparently what the dip it powder is (sodium carbonate) but a huge box is like $4. Looks brand new after soaking overnight and wiping clean. I do use the Bunn brand filters which are about 3/4 of an inch taller than most, keeps the grinds from getting into the brew. I'm in the same boat, always pondering the "diminishing return" on "upgrading" to a Mocamaster.

Looks a very good deal. Any catch? Manufacturer warranty still applies or no?

Hey not the same person you asked but was still hoping for help as well. I got this one for $60 a couple of months ago. https://www.officedepot.com/a/pro...p-Thermal/ . Worth the upgrade? Will it taste any different? When I make coffee it tastes a bit watery and strong.
