Can it work on .com, or is this b$m only?

I don't see a stipulation excluding gift cards? Is it really this easy, there'sgotta be a catch on the gift cards….

They do sell Amazon gift cards at Amazon Fresh in store! I've probably bought more $1k in gift cards over the past year at Amazon Fresh whenever this Chase offer rolls around. You can also buy 3rd party gift cards on Amazon using your gift card balance.
