Part #NETRAX35RB. So not the AX4. It's AX35 without the USB port. Skip this deal if you are hoping for AX4.
This says it's the RAX35, what is an AX35? The specs for this model show AX4 4-stream, where do you see this is not the case?

Would this be a noticeable improvement from a TP-Link Archer A7?

Do you have any devices that support Wifi 6 yet? If no, you'd probably only be buying it to future proof.

Other than that, it may be more secure since older routers aren't patched with new firmware anymore. It also may have better coverage if you're coming from a router with no external antennae.

What's your internet speed? How many devices do you have on your network?

I have 25 devices, 200mbps down/up, have the same router and have no plans to upgrade. Although there are only two of us, so we don't have a whole lot going on at once.
Thanks. Yeah my internet speed is only 100mps. We have a lot of devices but rarely seem to have any issues. Was wondering if this had something worth the upgrade but it looks like I don't need it.

great price on an older but good router. If you have a few extra $$$ get the TP link refurb for only $79, highly rated.

Was going to buy this. I assume it's not the newer v2 version. I need AP capability. Some quick googling shows issues with this with the "old v1". Not going to risk it unless someone can find proof of v2

I upgraded to this from a TP Link C2300 (which is a better router than the A7) to a RAX38 (which is similar to this one, maybe a bit higher end) and saw some solid upgrades, both in range (2400 sq ft 2 story house) and speed (getting 700 mbps down from Xfinity). Areas of the house where I would normally get 50-75 mbps now get 200-300. Across the room from the router I can pull 550-600 mbps. I imagine going from an A7 to this, you'll see even more of an upgrade.

What are the issues?
Dropped wifi on newer firmware?

I bought the new one on Walmart for $49.
My son is going to use this in his apartment, so he needs great ethernet for his desktop, but good-very good wifi for his laptop and cellphone. I couldn't chance a used refurb.

Decent for the price, bought one to test and within 20 feet it's performance is above average but at a distance the speed degradation is concerning. Only getting about 30% bandwidth on other end of the house compared to the 80% my LINKSYS WRT1900C was able to achieve.

If only it supported DD-WRT. Netgear firmware makes you register with them online, not for me.
In the meantime, the best deal (as I see it) is the previous gen R6260 AC1600 for ~$27. Unless you really need WiFi 6.
