From what I gather from the comments, it doesn't matter that the phone is still carrier locked, for trade in purposes. What do I do with the AT&T account though? I was never planning on staying with AT&T. As soon as I trade in the Flip3, can I cancel the AT&T service? Or do I have to wait some amount of time to not get hit with a penalty of some sort?

They take that coupon and apply it first towards new unlocked Sammy phone purchase, then the gift card, and then you make up for any remaining balance.
Just have to pay taxes on S22 plus after Samsung coupon
ie. $799 - $400 samsung tradein coupon = $400 + tax - $200 BBY gift card from trade-in.
So as they process it, a screen pops up and that's when it showed the 200 dollar + 400 dollar 1 time use coupon. I believe he said the promo code was "samsung"
Hope this helps others as before the manager, multiple associates could not figure out the deal.

I can confirm, tax was not based on selling price but rather discounted price after coupon.
I just traded in my S20FE and 2 S21s (wife/son). Got 3 trade in coupons and single gift card. Upgraded to S22 plus & S21s in store.
