I wonder why Samsung and Best Buy don't accept Pixel 6 and 6 Pro for trade-in?

why risk it. its only 50 bucks difference. you should still be getting cash left on gift card so nothing to lose out of pocket for s22.

I purchased a S22+ active now for TMobile. It's still unopened, does this have any sort of temporary carrier lock like I've heard some Apple devices do, or is it ready to go for any carrier?

It was $650.

On a similar note, what was the lowest for the S22 Ultra 128GB with activation? I think it was $850?

If you purchased a T-Mobile Version, it's locked to T-Mobile.

If you purchased an UNLOCKED Version, but activated on T-Mobile for discount, it's unlocked because you bought an unlocked phone.

Best Buy iPhones are Flex Lock. This is not a "temporary carrier lock," but rather is an unlocked phone UNTIL the first sim is inserted. At that point it locks to that carrier, and that carrier's unlock policy.

Edit: Insert Carrier name for T-Mobile above, and it's still the same.
Edit Edit: Don't downvote this and confuse people. This is correct information. Also as someone else posted the model numbers indicate exactly if it's unlocked or not. These (in the OP) are unlocked.

There was a brief period during the week before labor day when it was $800. People on this thread reported it may be a mistake on the website as it rung up as $850 but managers in-store were able to override it.

it was 549 with activation. Or at least thats how my transaction got processed. I walked away with a 133 bucks left in the gift card. I believe TMobile knocks off that additional 100 when activating. I cant tell if it is still happening, was hoping someone would post how the transaction went this week. havent seen one yet.

Is this true for other carriers, as well? I have an S22 Plus that was activated on Verizon for the price but not opened/powered on. Is it ok to gift or sell as a truly unlocked phone?

For me, I went in to get it when it was listed as $849 but was ringing up as $899. At least one or two other people reported the same. It was around this time that one or two people said they got it for $800 during a brief window. I don't know if it was ever determine exactly what was going on with that price - like if it was just ringing up that way as an activate now, if it was listed for $800, or something else.

How is the reception of the Flip4? My S22 gets horrible reception or issues with sometimes not receiving or sending texts and phone calls. My daughter's S22 is the same.
My dad's having similar issues with his 22+ and absolutely hates the phone as a result.

I have no issues with my s22 and s22 plus. Could It Be Your Service provider?

On vzw, usually has pretty good coverage and didn't have issues on his s20.

The Galaxy S phones in the US have separate model numbers (and SKUs) for carrier-locked vs. unlocked versions. For this trade-in promo BB should only have been selling you the unlocked model, as that's what the promo specified. Likely the coupon wouldn't have worked if it was applied to the locked model.

Look at the model number on the bottom left of the barcode label on the box, beginning with "SM". If it ends in "U1" then you have the unlocked model, "U" for locked.

You did it hassle free.
However, Z flip 5G in mint condition goes for around $300, which would give you $800 in trade in value. You'll pay just tax and still have your S10.
That's fair. But I don't want the s10 lol. Battery died after 1 hour of use. It was useless.

I considered buying a phone to just trade in. But honestly didn't think the best buy trade in would work given all the comments here
