The price on this chair is way overinflated in amazon... other seller are selling in for similar prices...

I agree the MSRP seems high. However, I think this is likely the lowest price availabile.

Not sure the mesh is cheaper. But anyway, if you want gray, you can click on the mesh version (gray seat, black mesh back) and it's also $137.

Specs are nothing special. Have a similar one in the office. Yes it's pretty strong and that's about it. Will lose comfort over time. Typical wear and tear depending on how you treat it. Price is about right.

Fair price for $140, but to say you're saving ~$300 is a huge stretch. Based on what I've seen at the stores for Hon Basyx stuff, I'd say this should be ~$250 tops regular price. For $450 MSRP, you're talking Steelcase territory.

The negative reviews are mostly saying that the fabric detaches from the back support. I'm not convinced that the quality is very good.

That's like saying a wooden desk "isn't even particle board".

That plastic fake leather that starts peeling and leaving flakes everywhere in less than a year is hardly a positive thing. It's absolutely awful and I can't believe anyone still buys furniture coated in that trash.
