FYI if you're planing to use these behind a tv with a sync box these are NOT the strips you want. You'll want the gradient play strip. I ordered this the other week not realizing the diff and canceled my order after doing some googling

This has been the price for a few days and there is a thread on it. Some people have luck getting an additional 15% off from Amazon. It normally shows up on the page. If you have it, then a solid deal.

I just need a section on bottom of TV, can you still zone it out for sync box when cut so short? Would the light tube be a better scenario?

Seems like such a waste to cut so much off too.

Ordered these last week. We had to slice off about half a cm of plastic from around the connector of the main strip otherwise the pins from the extension wouldn't make contact. Never had to do this with any of my other Hue strips . . .

So what's the common wisdom, if you want to mount this to the back of a TV, is the ambiance light strip (this deal) better than the play light strip?

Just something to keep in mind: I got these last time and the zones on the main strip are each 1 meter (3.3 ft) but the extensions are only 3 feet. Most people won't notice but it looked a little off to me, especially with 2 extensions

Yeah that's my debate as well...in the older thread about this product it seemed that the huge light was the better option as it has more zones. This only 3 zones regardless of the extension or not. I am trying to think how to use this with a projector screen

This is the strip you would want to use together with the gradient play, this strip goes on the bottom of the TV where the play strip doesn't cover.
