FYI if you're planing to use these behind a tv with a sync box these are NOT the strips you want. You'll want the gradient play strip. I ordered this the other week not realizing the diff and canceled my order after doing some googling

I only counted 15.8 million colors. I'll double check.

What else would I need to make these work?
A device that can download apps or you can link with a sync box and it'll produce colors on the screen for the full backlight effect

I thought these worked with the hue sync box? I bought these with the exact intentions on putting them behind my new 86 inch tv

Asking here because maybe there's a smart light expert here Smilie
I have an sylvania Osram Lightify led light strip and the little gateway controller. Sylvania stopped support for this a while back. Anyway, I'm looking for a way to set a schedule timer for the strip to adjust between 100% illumination to like 1% illumination. I prefer the strip to be low light all day except between, say 4pm-11pm. I know NOTHING about it and the only timer on the app is on/off. Not variations on the brightness. Thanks!

Difference between this and the Costco one at about half price is the gradient?

Folks with both, enjoy gradients that much more?

But the gradient on the Wyze strips will get you similar results, and those are only $30 for 16'. Hue stuff is way overpriced for what it is. The only reason you should get these is if you absolutely need the frosted cover for some reason. Even then, you could easily frost the cover of the Wyze strip and save a ton of money.

You should be able to connect the Sylvania to the Samsung Smartthings app and setup a timer/routines through it.

I ordered this from Amazon for $102 on July 24th...
It was $120 and there was a coupon available.
So this is not the lowest it's been...

UPDATE: My bad, I ordered just the 6 foot one with out additional 3 foot.

I too still have and use some osram lightify products. I hate they stopped support, especially because now I can't seem to find a way to have my recessed LED lights paired both to the Lightify hub and to Alexa at the same time 😫😫

Hue is overpriced for what you get these days. Too many other options, and I'm saying this as someone who has 20+ hue lights in my house
