Passive cooling lmfao. If thats true the desert has passive cooling. Marketing and sales people deserve to go to hell and enjoy its passive cooling.

This versus the $126 Lenovo currently posted - either one noticeably better or worse for a cheap laptop? Or pretty much the same?
The Lenovo is much nicer. The IPS display and touch alone are worth paying more for imo.

That said, it's a pretty weak computer too (you'll get a similar but only very slightly better level of performance with it vs this one).

I know this doesn't mean much for this exact product, but I made the mistake of buying the $100 new laptop before. It was so slow, it STRUGGLED to do basic Windows updates. Updates for which it automatically wanted to do every single time you powered it on. Even opening Chrome up for 1 tab was a chore. I was all-out shocked any company would release a laptop that slow in the era. Point of the story, I'd REALLY think about it before buying. Make sure you keep track of that return window and put it through the paces before the window closes.

Nothing actually I literally just web browsed and went to youtube and even those two things took awhile lol. Might as well spend a few hundred bucks more and get an iPad but I figured I'd give it a try for $100 Asus Laptop..
Okay..what kind of sites were u surfin' ? I have a $60 Fire tablet that is very fast ,don't need a overpriced unit from Apple thank you very much. This is a 14" laptop, why are you introducing tablets into the discussion anyways?

Would something like this be ok to play older games like Civ on steam? Or do I need something with more ram?

Need a laptop for parents, just basic stuff like web surfing and paying bills. Would you recommend this or a chromebook for a similar price?

I bought this in store today and I'll be returning it tomorrow. The 1GHz N4020 processor and 4gb of ram were running at 100% usage while I was idling with one Firefox tab open. The system struggled and stuttered when launching applications or moving between different folders. It's worse than your public library computer.

Did you do all the updates? Once you apply all the updates it speeds up quite a bit.

Does this laptop have backlit keyboard? It shows in the product photos F7 key with the BL switch, but in the product description it says it doesn't have BL keyboard.
