It's definitely weird. A bit funny. Lots of anime/manga tropes. I never made it past the second season. Still, highly influential if you're into manga/anime in a big way. Weaboo?

One of my all-time favorite shows. The OVAS are probably my favorite though but the series is still really good.

Its a silly show, the transforming is played off for laughs or for individual character dynamics, not serious social commentary. And so is everything else in the show; its a comedy. and after the first 2 seasons it kinda degenerates into your typical shonen cycle, some short filler eps not seen in the manga, etc.

Don't buy this expecting character development at a reasonable pace. But its turn off your brain fun, and all the characters have flaws to play off eachother, so no real annoying perfect characters.

The show that got me into anime around '94. It's mindboggling that an entire season is $5 I used to pay $30 for a single VHS with a few episodes, which is the equivalent of $50 of today's money.
