What folks do with 400? Unless someone has persistent issues. May be in that case it is better to get prescription med? Sorry, if it sounds insensitive. I am just curious. My doctor once told me that some needs to on PPI for prolonged period.
Your doctor can prescribe the med and dosage but you get it where can get it the cheapest.
Depending on your health insurance and prescription drug benefit, over-the-counter meds are often cheaper, so many people buy these common meds OTC.

I have to take it daily for a condition and it would cost 4x this amount to get it via prescription.
My vet has me give these to my dog when he gets "grumbly tummy". 30 lb dog = 10 mg. They work almost immediatly so we can get back to sleep. Problem is getting them down him.

The stronger the medication the higher the risk of side effects, these are longer safe term than a PPI (proton pump inhibitor like Prilosec). Because it's over the counter most insurance outside of Medicare won't cover it anyway.
I always use credit cards to buy and ask FSA/HSA to reimburse me. Why not getting some free credit card points / cash back?
That's what I do as well. HSA even lets me invest my funds (untaxed) so I plan on saving my receipts and cashing out in a few years since there's no time limit on HSA reimbursements.

There are all sorts of GI conditions that utilize this medication long-term. My teenage daughter has Eosinophilic Esophagitis and takes it in the morning and at night, likely for life.

Now that you mention it, I believe I bought these for a $1.22 from Amazon fresh around the same time.

The only downside is I can't use FSA payment on S&S.
