Well good for you. This is a deal compared to current and available offerings. And I wanted another V8 because that's what I have and like and already have accessories for... and it's $100 cheaper than what you paid.
And if you got the 'Animal' version then I wonder if you got the fluffy head.
Probably because the deal was for a V10 not a V11. It was a year ago and he had a $100 off coupon code that no one else could get to work and the deal has never showed up again.

Then you DON'T need max power at all time. Otherwise if you really need that every horsepower of a corded Animal to clean 100% of time then you stick with corded for the rest of your life.
Right now I'm on an ancient V6 and an ancient DC14, and I can just use the V6 for most of daily little cleanings. It's easy and lightweight enough that I don't feel compelled to drag out the DC14 for every little thing.
Some of us can vacuum only once a week instead of daily. That means we need more power when we do. And if you have a large area to clean vs. a small apartment, the short battery life on this cordless is totally not doable. That doesn't mean that a workable cordless vacuum won't become available during the "rest of my life". In fact, the Dyson Outsize Absolute is now available with an extra battery, but the $1000 price tag is too much. Also, even those who do vacuum frequently, still should do deep cleaning from time to time.
BTW There's no reason for you to be sarcastic or criticize me or anybody else for doing things differently than you.
Walmart has been offering increasingly good deals on dyson vacuum every other day. And holy shit I bought all three. I could test them all out before returning two but I think V8 should be the clear winner.
I did this with the recent v8 Motörhead and v10 allergy deals…had my kids create a methodology for testing and then present their findings to my wife and I.
Then we added the layer of cost, to teach them the concept of value. even though the v10 won all performance and ergonomics categories, it couldn't overcome the $180 price difference with the v8 for our family.
Summary: We kept the cheapest option and taught our kids to be cheap
Like others have been saying - if you want older generation V8 with lots of attachments (most you may never use), get this. Otherwise the new anti-tangle V8 with many technical updates + knock off soft roller attachment (from Amazon) is a better deal

Whatever flows your boat dude. I'm only telling you how this is typically utilized. If it doesn't fit you then stick with your corded scenario, and telling you that is is "criticizing" you? Jeez.
I keep telling you you don't need max for your entire place and you keep ignoring it or not liking it, and even say I'm "criticizing" you? Come on now.
Outsize absolute's boost mode is 20 minutes, and that's when battery health is 100%, which obviously won't be forever. It's also 2+ lbs heavier.
It's physics. Battery life is limited and they degrade over time. You put more/bigger battery to lengthen the battery life, and people complain about it being too heavy. There's always something.

I don't mean to criticize you, but I also run a 7 year old V6 as my only vacuum cleaner in a 2300 sq ft home. We vacuum once a week at most. The V6 suction is about the same as V8 regular mode from what I understand. I've never felt the suction was insufficient. Now in year 7 the battery won't hold up for the whole home but I wouldn't trade battery life for a heavier vacuum like a V11. The lightweight V6 is our preference. Just FYI in case it helps.

paid is diff from sold & shipped. this deal is fulfilled by Walmart, at least per website. i think one should be able to return to Walmart if indeed it is fulfilled by Walmart.
Despite seeing 2 or so people that are opting to go with this deal over the LG A9 refurbished for $219, I think I'm going to hold firm on my order (which hasn't even shipped yet). Vast majority of the comments I've seen online have recommended LG A9 over Dyson so I want to see what all the rave is about. If I don't like it, I'll just return it. By then, it should be holiday shopping season and there will be tons of vacuum deals to choose from. On the otherhand, if I like it, then I just scored a really nice cordless vacuum for $219.
True. The last deal on the dyson v8 motorhead origin+ (walmart) had the newer detangling motorhead brush and without the soft roller head that one was priced at $250
How much of a difference does that detangling motorhead make?
Honestly not so sure. I own a v7 and the long hairs do get stuck on the motorhead bar and I have to cut them with a scissors from time to time. Heard and have seen videos where the newer detangling head does take care of a good portion of that issue. Additionally, I am unsure if there is a better motor on the newer detangling motorhead too (that one is named the origin+) as opposed to the original first gen coz they state the origin+ is 'latest technology' (on the dyson website) though I haven't enquired what aspect of it is 'latest' other than the detangling bar (the battery run time is the same for both versions) .

I also said I am JUST NOW looking into cordless. This is actually the first one I've ever checked. This one could very well be typical, but I had no idea that the battery life was as short as it is, and finding that, I now know this vacuum isn't for me.
