Just coming to say I'm a bottle snob and have been through dozens, both for adults and kids.

Only two make the cut across the board:

Non-insulated: 32oz Nalgene

Insulated: This bottle.

Seriously, grab 4. There are a few that are technically superior, but they usually lack in volume. This isn't a crazy slick price, various colors are available around $18 all the time. But still a TU for a good product.

Project Farm on YouTube just did a test of water bottles. Depending on your needs, it's worth a watch. He isn't sponsored and buys everything himself. He rated the Coleman as a best buy, but docked the Stanley due to the price point. This price point is more inline with the Coleman, so it would be worth a look if you're in the market.

Long shipping time. Haven't found anything beating a zojirishi but I'll give it a shot since it comes with a carrying handle that my kids like

Have 4 of these and bought the Lilac a week or so ago at this price. Didn't realize at the time it was a Slickdeal.

Anyway, these are excellent for kids using them in school.

Not sure how much the top opens but I can just see myself breaking it off with my head or my hat if I take too big a swig. - and maybe with the visor in the car when driving

It flips open about 180 degrees with a thumb press, if that helps. The spring loading is solid, IMO, but can flop back onto your face a little.

Appreciate your bottle snobbery. I work a job outdoors in all weather where I need stuff that can hold up and I need the volume.

Agree on the Nalgenes. After 10ish years ai did manage 2 break 2 this year both broke while freezing them almost full for the millionth time.

I've been looking for bottles to keep stuff hot and had a Stanley mug which is pretty good but cannot be thrown in a pack and stay sealed.

I'd also like to give my vote for the next best thing to a Nalgene is the camelback with the flip magnetized lid. They are a little bit easier for me to drink from 1 handed while driving but still clean easy.

Is this Stanley the same one that Project Farm reviewed? PF's one is $40 retail and this one is $23. And they look slightly different

Good point, I did not compare the model number. Maybe the Coleman is a better bet. Thanks!
