Question for me is do I buy now, or wait until around Black Friday when this may be even less? Thoughts?

No. Your G1 is equal or better than the C2. Keep your G1 and your extra $400.
I returned my 42" c2 for an open box 55" g1. So far, it's been a great decision.

EDIT>>>> Don't buy open box because it won't get covered by lg for 5 years. Best Buy initially told me the 5 year warranty applies, but I asked again and apparently that was a miscommunication on their end.

If you're going to get this G1, get it brand new for the 5 year warranty.

Bought the 77" C2 from the exchange during the last sale and man is it a phenomenal TV. We love it. Sadly the exchange delivery took nearly a month.

$1800 for a 4k tv knowiong you can get an 8k tv at 2800 is stupid; Its dated tech , just becaus ethey pulled 8k tv's before COVID in 2020 doesnt mean they dont exist. They are saying thank you for your service while sticking it to you! 4k tvs 75" and under - are worth 700 and under-- 4k is on its way out .
Just put a disclaimer that you have no idea what you're talking about next time.

Gaming isn't hitting 8k anytime soon. Especially at 120hz which is what most ppl care about. Also broadcast TV hasn't even hit native 4k. Nice scare tactic.

If you want the best I would say yes. But more likely your on Slickdeals for the deals and for that I don't think it's worth a 40% price difference.
It's not. The G1 is a clearance price. You will see the G2 close to $999 by this time next year. Go to Rtings.com and do a comparisson of both models. They have a compare tool in the top bar of their website. You can check the specs and improvements from
the G1 to G2 and decide if those improvements are worth the extra spend. To me, they are not.
