Don't know why everyone keeps saying the G1 must hang on the wall just because it doesn't come with a table stand. That's like saying every other tv must sit on a table just because it doesn't come with a wall mount. Any 300x300 vesa mount will work on the 55 G1.

This was on sale last week for same price as well, decent deal for 5year warrenty, The sony A80J is same price. Sony uses Google TV and colorist more accurate but the G1 might be a bit brighter is placed side by side. G1 has more gaming features. Debating which to use for the bedroom. Sony has a TV stand G1 must hang on wall.

The purpose of the G1 model is for it to look like a picture frame up on a wall I think. Looks like they sell them on Amazon for $100 though

Any VESA stand that meets the specs will do. Couldn't find on BB website but rtings says it is standard 300x300.

the G1/G2 line is meant for wall mount, if you want legs you should buy the C1/C2 model which comes with legs. The G1/G2 line is slightly brighter than the C1/C2 models, but I doubt most people will really notice at all. Both generally use the same evo panels nowadays, the G1 and G2s just have slightly different chipsets which allow a bit more (internal) control over the panel.

I have both displays.. the lg is the better display.

Walmart sells the leg style for under $20 if you wanted to buy in store. They also sell the kind that sits in the middle and allow the tv to swivel and height adjust but they charge over $50. I got that kind but got mine from Amazon for $25. https://a.co/d/0ccAD0A
