This laptop is almost perfect for me on paper. The extra 1/2" of screen is really nice and the OLED screen is the best I've seen. There are two issues - RAM and fan noise. I knew it came with 12GB of RAM but, through a chat with tech support, told me it could be upgraded to 16. That appears to be wrong as the Costco version of this laptop has 4GB of RAM soldered so 12GB is the max. I could make due with 12GB of RAM, but the fan noise is a deal breaker and I will likely return this computer. It's noisier than my 5 year old Dell, even when just web browsing. So unfortunate. If you're OK with 12GB of RAM and don't mind fan noise, it's a great laptop
A different review:
The RAM situation is completely fine. It's 8 GB soldered on, with a 4 GB stick. I've already replaced the 4 GB stick with a 16 GB stick, and now I have a total of 24 GB of RAM. Just make sure to grab a DDR4 3200 MHz SO-DIMM stick if you want to upgrade yours.
I also replaced the 512 GB NVME drive with a 1 TB drive that's faster.

I can't see any reason a 32GB SO-DIMM wouldn't work as well.

I would buy a high-end (or any segment) laptop with 4 GB if the price was right and it allowed the user to expand it to 36 GB or 64 GB.
Not saying this is bad, but we will see it go away in favor of UHD+ at some point. Edit: Just noticed some talk about this here. [arstechnica.com]
RAM situation is fine as already pointed out by everybody. Slumming it on 12 GB is doable too depending on the use case.
