It's a strange "Hype tool" to me. I can see it being a good tool if doing production level, but it's not a production level tool. I guess if you are gluing a slab on-site it's could have use... but that would be something I'd rather prefab, and then assemble on-site.
I purchased this exact Q set in January for $1060 and it has been a superb tool. I use it all the time for light to medium strength (I would say "fine woodworking") projects: hundreds of 3/4" plywood butt joints for wainscoting walls, a garden gate door, reinforcement for wood archways, a kids picnic bench. It's absolutely worth the money to me. I suggest anyone buying it to also buy the systainer of dominos which comes with 5 different size cutters (item 498899). The largest cutter has been the most used for me recently (a few notches larger than what comes with the joiner itself), though I don't think I would step up to the Domino XL if I was to repurchase.
For deal searchers, this is the lowest I've ever seen this tool; it rarely goes on sale.
Regarding this deal specifically, it appears to lack a Systainer and a few more accessories but could be a great way to get a Domino on a rare discount.

"Bunch of bugs" -> Please elaborate. I don't know of any real bugs or issues with the tool.
"Gluing a slab onsite" -> Admittedly you're saying this is where a domino *would* be useful, but please explain to me how you would put joints in a large slab or any large object using a pantorouter? They only have ~12" of travel in any direction. So you have a gigantic support table and you would realign and re-clamp the workpiece for every mortise you cut?

Worth noting for people who may not know, biscuits are for alignment and don't provide strength to a joint. Pocket holes, screws, dowels and dominos will.
Look at how quickly the knipex knockoffs came out the minute the patent expired.
Correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I know there's no law against developing copies of a patented item as long as you aren't selling them yet
