Used to work at Sherwin. You can buy your paint un-tinted while it's on sale and then bring them back and have them tinted (for free) when you're ready to paint.

Update 8/14/22: Several people seem to be upset with Consumer Reports. Here's another source from Project Farm where he tested interior paints. The "big box store" Behr Marquee performed pretty close to Sherwin-Williams Emerald interior paint. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=S4RPaoU47jo
As exterior paint goes, Everlast IS better than Duration according to my March 2022 Consumer Reports ratings.

Duration and Emerald INTERIOR & Duration EXTERIOR paints are trash as you'll see in the ratings below. The reason they are bad is the Duration test result scores were a 3/5 in "Hiding" (Hiding reflects how well a paint covers dark colors mainly with one-coat) and a 4/5 in "Staining" (Staining shows how well a paint resists tough oil and water based stains.)

Emerald scored a 3/5 in both categories.

With the scores below, the paints that scored 86 or above, scores 5/5 in Hiding and Staining, so negligible difference between paints in that tier.

In fact, hope these ratings help others. In essence, there are better paints out there than Sherwin-Williams that are cheaper or similar in price with the 40% discount. If taking advantage of this 40% sale, the Sherwin-Williams Emerald Exterior that scored virtually at the top of exterior paints, would be a good one with this 40% and any stacked coupons. So if painting exterior of house, I'd try and snag that stuff.

Just finished painting the entire home with their 35% off that was the last sale. Got 23 gallons of emerald which went on flawlessly and looks great. Try to combine this with the $10 of $50 paint perks coupon or the $15 off $75 pottery barn sherwin Williams coupon.

I was able to have them apply multiple coupons by buying 1 gallon containers vs 5 gallons.

I think I saw in a previous thread that the 40% off sale starts I believe on Aug 19th. Not sure which date is correct, or maybe they're doing two 40% sales in a row?
