This deal has been around for a very long time.

The egift card can only be used on verizon stuff. I use it to pay my bills.

I am sorry I went back to verizon because their service is horrible now in upstate ny. The sad part is you have to stay for a full year or you have to pay them back the full amount.

There used to be $35 activation fees per line. Is it not the case anymore?

Go further. I travel with two services as well. VZ wins 80% of the time. ATT is pretty good though. TMobile isn't even on the same page.
I have a completely different experience. My verizon service has been horrible to say the least and the att service has been great in my Model S where ever we go. Verizon is almost completely dead at cooperstown, where millions visit yearly. The waitress said everyone uses ATT in this town.

Verizon still charges $35 each line for activation. In addition, Verizon raised fees by about $2 in the past 2 months. So did AT&T. All blame on inflation :-). I heard the same thing from used car dealers.

Better than the AT&T $250 BYOD. AT&T divides a $250 bill credit over 24 months.

I also travel with VZ and TMobile. In the last couple of years, if only one is working, 90% of the time is TMobile. Especially in more rural areas. Verizon is typically faster in areas where both work well.
Same here, except tmobile is the faster one now on my area. I've recently tried all 3 and tmobile wins overall. Verizon 5g home internet is cheaper though so I switched to that recently, but tmobile hack for $10/month for unlimited internet can't be beat. See other thread

And if you don't need 4+ lines and only 2, each one costs like $80. Sounds just like T-Mobile's BS pricing scam. All for a gift card that serves to keep you on VZ longer. No thanks.

Verizon is so much better than TMobile if you leave the city.
I live out in the country. I had two LG G7s, one with Tmobile and one with ATT. I watched the signals as my wife drove further into the sticks. On one trip they were about the same, on the second Tmobile was a little better. YMMV but I thought Tmobile was pretty good.

The cheapest Verizon plan is about 3X what I am paying now, and the rebate will only compensate for the first 7 months. What I have is adequate. Oh well.

I feel like this was true 15 years ago. I carry an ATT personal phone and VZW work phone. ATT gets better service. This was not true 15 yrs ago but now its different.
Agree, been with Verizon since mid-90s, service has never been as bad as it is now

T-Mobile is crap. Drove from Los Angeles to Texas and back. Even if it showed signal on my iPhone 13 Pro, it couldn't load anything.

Yes there is. Unless you been a customer for years they let 1 activation a year slide.

Just three key things to remember on this deal
1- DO NOT replace your BYOD device within the 45 days of activation. If you break your phone and replace it, you lose the $500 rebate.
2- Likely you have to remain activated for 13 billing cycles as opposed to 12 since it's risky to port out to a different carrier exactly at 12 months. If you port out a day earlier, they'll charge the $500 to your Verizon account.
3- Visible is not an eligible carrier you can port from.

You can take advantage of the typical bill credit subsidies Verizon offers during the period following the 45 days mentioned above.
