I can't comment on how this compares to others, but this is a smoking deal on this pad. However, for car camping I might personally look for something much thicker and more comfortable. These are great for backpacking, but if I'm not lugging it on a trail, I wouldn't get something like this.

The 3 inches width may be helpful, but it should only be a 1/2 inch thickness difference, and this one has a lot more insulation and much better reviewed brand.

Got this last week at this price and used it overnight backpacking last night. Light, easy to pack down small, and kept me warm with lows in upper 40s overnight here in the PNW. I'm a side sleeper and the foam/air combo kept me comfortable. It is not a wide mat but that's what to expect if ultralight backpacking. Would highly recommend!

Good price but probably not for larger people. My wife has this while I have a Klymit Static V. The extra 3 inches in width and extra 1 inch in thickness of the Klymit make a lot of difference to me in comfort. The Klymit material also seems more durable compared to the "paper lantern" material of the Therm-a-rest. The Klymit often goes for as low as $30 on Amazon for the non-insulated one.

Do you happen to know how this one compares to thermarest Basecamp model (also self-inflating)? Or this KingCamp - https://a.co/d/cWaoRsi ? I'm looking for a self-inflating pad for car camping, so mostly concerned about durability and quality of sleep

Do you have any recommendation for car camping?

Unfortunately I don't. If I were getting into car camping, I would probably just go with a regular air mattress and use an inverter to plug it in and blow it up. Or even carry a small generator. Of course, details matter, like space constraints in the car, the tent size, etc.

FYI, there may be others like me looking for multiple things. I found this yesterday after first finding a tent deal I also posted. Not trying to self-promote, but just in case anyone is also looking for a 2-person tent: https://slickdeals.net/f/15976864-alps-mountaineering-lynx-2-person-tent-gray-navy-65-97?attrsrc=sea...

Upon a little inspection, the KingCamp one looks huge, and the listing has two different weights, but I think the correct weight is almost 7 pounds, so that's definitely not for backpacking. The other Thermarest is almost twice the weight (40 ounces) of this one (22 ounces) but also has a much higher R value, meaning it has a lot more insulation and will work better keeping you warm in winter temps. Depends on what kind of camping you are doing. This one is the same thickness and almost half the weight and price.

Eh, i have the klymit static v2, I'm glad I got it and all, but I wouldnt call it thicker than this one, considering how it's a bunch of inflated pockets. And if you dont sleep exactly flat on your back I wouldn't say it's comfortable, but better to have than the ground and tent alone. There wasn't much better for size it's size and weight and cost at the time I got it.
