Note that these are porcelain coated cast iron. Not the same thing or same quality as true cast iron grills - these will start chunking off after a year or two of use.

For others, note that the hinged lid on this grill can be problematic for some (such as myself). The ability to redirect the top vent to different parts of the grill is important to me. When I'm using charcoal baskets for instance, I want the heat to 'cross over'. With this design where you can't spin the lid to change where the vent is at, it really limits me.

Also, note that there isn't a temperature gauge (unless I'm just blind). A simple addition but seems like a silly oversight.

Deal seems pretty solid for what you ultimately get, but if you're really into grilling, I'd lean towards one without the hinged top and that has either good thick stainless grates or true cast iron.

But for your everyday griller, yes not a bad deal here. The winning features are the included charcoal baskets, the charcoal bin, and cart with decently large wheels. The propane starter isn't my thing but could be useful for some!

Dang I bought this in May for $300. Does anyone know if I can price adjust by buying it on clearance and returning it to get the full price?
They have a 90 day return policy so if you are within that window, I don't see why you should not be able to

I can bbq pretty good. This checks all the boxes for me. Cast iron/charcoal grill bonus for the propane assist.. I use a hand chimney. Been waiting for sam's club to come back with a cast iron grill

I bought this yesterday. It's very heavy and an obvious weber performer clone. You should be able to get $179 of use out of it. It doesn't have a temp gauge. That was the only odd thing I noticed. Easy fix.

Can I smoke a brisket in this thing? Not familiar with propane assist charcoal grills.

Buy a Weber performer and never look back. Ten year warranty on most parts.

Still $249 Bullhead City AZ. Though when you look at the thumbnail on the Sam's club site it says $179. Once you click on it says $249

Appears if you go to pick it up it is $179. If you need it shipped it's $249. What happened to the free shipping with a plus membership?

Negative. Same for both. Was the case earlier and still is now.

This is what happened with me. It didn't even show up as available at my local store so I added it to my cart for shipping and then went to my cart and changed it to pickup and the price changed to the $179.
