Every copy of Flowers for Algernon should just come bundled with a box of tissues. Good read, but heart-breaking. If you don't sob uncontrollably at least once, you have no heart.

That is a quote from the book and is not an error. The book is about a man, Charlie,with a very low IQ who volunteers to undergo an experimental procedure to increase his intelligence. The book is largely told through journal entries that Charlie keeps as part of the experiment. Because he is mentally challenged, the early entries appear like the writings of a young child with many spelling and grammatical mistakes.

The Wheel of Time TV* series may suck, but the books are very entertaining. I'm not sure if $3 is as low as Eye of the World gets but it's a large book so it seems worthwhile to me.
