UMK3 was such a hot arcade game in 95/96. I remember spending 16 quarters on a 8 man tourney just to watch the ending where it showcases all the fatalities.
Ahh this brings back memories. My favorite childhood game.
It might not be a slick deal - but nostalgia is stronger, I got myself one

Yeah, on release the only two n64 games readily available were mk trilogy and wayne gretzky 3d hockey. Everything else was basically sold out.

The good thing is Mortal Kombat was at the top of my wishlist anyways.

This is crazy, I am setting up an arcade cabinet and want to have all the Mortal Kombat games. Was literally TODAY debating if I wanted to emulate the PSX or N64 version of this, I had no idea there was a PC port. What good timing
Being GoG is SO much better if you're going to use PC port too, especially for an arcade cabinet. Not having to call home or connect to a network at all to run is so much better.

I like the Shantae games and want them on my cabinet when I build it. I've got Attract Mode setup to launch all sorts of stuff on one system. On another system I have Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero running smooth as glass using the DRM Free GoG version running with Lutris so it will work on Linux. How exactly to make native/WINE games exit from the front end sort of eludes me. I have made some scripts that basically restart the X session with a hot key when my kids launch native Linux games, but not having a single hot-key kill for native/WINE stuff is a stumbling block. Sometimes I prefer ROMs over native just because emulators are easier to control in a cabinet environment.

Yeah I settled on Launchbox as my front end after literal years of trying everything out. It's fantastic. My cabinet is coming along so nice

DOH!

I have my wires crossed!

I had Launchbox on my HTPC - which is nice.

My arcade-like system I use AttractMode. AttractMode is the one I use in Linux and have the X-restart hot-key on. Launchbox is mostly native Windows, but I do have some emulation going on.

I actually paid for the lifetime Launchbox license I like it so much.

I'm on the spectrum and I sometimes have difficulty matching concepts with proper words. I have a genius level I.Q. and can work in complicated systems all day, but if I open my mouth or write often stupid comes out. Sorry about that, so apply AttractMode in my previous post. LaunchBox is super awesome also, my biggest issue with it isn't actually LaunchBox, but all the other providers logging out and needing me to log back in all the danged time.

On my normal Linux stuff (my HTPC was my only Windows system) I like to use Lutris. It has a lot in common with LaunchBox without BigBox but the big thing is it makes installing Windows games easy. I can work out WINE issues the hard way if I want, I have the skill, but I would rather not. Lutris makes it much easier.

This game brings back nostalgia when I used to play this title on N64... The PS1 version was a better quality version, but the CD loading was such an immersion breaker.

Even though I already own the Mortal Kombat Arcade Collection on Steam, that was delisted years ago, and it seems as if I have a little bit more difficult of a time getting it running every time I have to reinstall, so having something more up to date without DRM might just justify the purchase to me.
Since you said you were having issues w/ the MK Arcade Kollection, I suggest you refer to this article [steamcommunity.com]. It helped me the last time I had reinstalled the game on Steam.

For those who buy the game, you might want to consider this Kommunity patch that fixes some issues:

I actually keep that in my synced bookmarks - but I figure it's just a matter of time before the MSI download links no longer work (I have that file on my Google Drive too) or some new OS release breaks that workaround... But thank you for sharing - that may help someone who wanders in here.

If you love MK, especially UMK3, I'd highly recommend following the work of TehDrewsus on the UMK3 arcade ROM. He's done incredible work backwards engineering with original hardware to add new characters, alt costumes, new attract mode features, fixing bugs, the list goes on.

Anyone use a fight stick? I can't seem to make my 8bitdo stick to work with this game.
