This is a roll on rack though, not a frames hang. Roll ons are almost always 2" because of the racks weight alone plus the bikes.
Have you ever searched for 2 bike tray racks? Most models come in a 1.25" variant. To say that they are almost always 2" is patently false unless you're referring to 3+ bike racks.

Even this rack comes in a 1.25" variant, although it is sold out.

Just saw a review seconds ago saying it won't work well with front fenders. The bikes are secured via front tire pressure from the hooks and fenders won't allow it to be fully secure.

Ah, i hadn't even thought about this. I have an ebike with a front fender and a pretty much fully enclosed rear wheel with a fender as well. Is there a rack that's ideal for these type of bikes - like a RadRunner+?

Wheel mount bike racks are primarily for expensive bikes. You can damage the frame with the hanging type racks. Hanging type racks are suitable for most bikes under 5k new and are 1/3 the cost.Y
You can damage the paint with a hanging rack, not the frame itself.

Great deal on a mid-range bike rack. I'm going to pass, though, as that plasticy structure just doesn't scream quality after a few months of real use.
Did you read the comments from people who have had this for years without issue?

60 pound max per bike. Someone above said that's great, but my e bike weighs about 90 pounds.
I ended up ordering one of the Hollywood Racks from Rad that are 20% off right now, since they have a higher per bike weight capacity for my Juiced RCS. Fingers crossed.

The comparable Saris one is half the price. How do they compare?

So true. Also, ever since my daughter upgraded to an adult bike, getting my bike, my wife's, and my daughter's into my hanging rack has been a major chore, each and every time we drive out some place to ride. It's a Thule 4-bike rack but getting three adult bikes onto it and having to finagle things to get them on is taking the joy out of riding.

I've been waiting for a sale on these platform racks for some time. There was a sale on Saris equipment a few weeks ago but I was not sold on their support so I didn't bite. I think this is a great deal and I'm going to jump on this one.

Thanks, OP!

I cheaped out and bought the fultyme rv 1300 from Walmart. Made a couple additions and have had two uneventful voyages with 2 90 pound bikes

I specifically passed on the Saris sale a few months ago because I've read reviews and seen videos about how wobbly the racks get with a load on them. This Thule seems to do much better with the threaded hitch bolt for a secure fit.

Look how wobbly this road bike gets being secured on a saris rack. You can imagine how worse it gets doing 45+mph on a highway. I saw this video a while back and noped out of buying a Saris.

Yea I didn't pull the trigger either. Seems like you could get a 2020/2021 model if you ordered it instead of a 2022 which seems better.

I ended up buying a Hollywood racks one two days ago on Amazon for $199. Amazing reviews. It will be here tomorrow. Not rated for ebikes though

This is a totally unrelated question, not so much about the product itself, but for all products in this category:

Has anyone ever had an issue with the police while transporting bikes using a rack like this? I notice that nearly all of the hitch mount bike racks, regardless of design, all tend to cover the rear license plate entirely.

I know the law is normally that you are not supposed to block your rear plate for any reason but I see people running around with cargo carriers, bike racks, mobility scooter carriers, etc. all the time. Is this just a loosely-enforced law in most places?

Check your state laws. Some states allow for exceptions such as bikes/racks.
