Not a smart buy. Apple Watch 3 at this stage of Apple Watch is functionally obsolete as a smart watch in 2022. It's slow, has poor battery life, and is literally the opposite of "future proof," as much as I hate that phrase. I've seen posts for the current AW 7 on SD for $280 or so. The smart money would be to spend the extra $130 on that model, which will be relevant for at least 4 more years -- three more than the AW 3, which is sure to get discontinued in September.

At least it should be free with a purchase of AirTag.

I find these comments funny.
Still wearing my series 3.
Put it on 5 hrs ago. Still at 92% battery.
For what I use it for (telling time, tracking the temperature, showing me the day/date, quick responses to texts, and seeing emails all without touching my phone), I would hate to live without it.
It's had a fine crack all along the bottom of the screen for at least the last year. I keep thinking water will get it or something will break, but it still works like new 😂

I've thought about replacing it but I can't think of why. Lol.

I am considering an Apple Watch and would use similarly. How often do you charge it?

I charge every night while I sleep. I can't wear watches/jewelry while I sleep. Bugs me. Battery is never below 50% when I put it on the charger.

Ignorance is bliss as they say. But I'm sure if you wore an AW 5, 6, or 7 for a day you'd understand why the 5 year old 3s bones creak at night and could not go back to it with all it's missing features plus the face is comparatively tiny to the newer models, even the 42mm. And clearly you've never been through the agony of switching your AW 3 to a new phone.

But, hey, enjoy. I'm just saying if one in 2022 is trying to decide between the 3 and paying $150 for a modern model, the smart money is on the latter.

Cool story. So what am I missing (that I would actually use) by continuing to use this antique Apple watch?? 😂😂
Btw...I'm still on on old, old, old out of date Apple 11 phone 😆😆😆😆
