Yeah, I saw a guy sitting in one of these short ones on July 4th and it did NOT look comfortable for more than about 5 minutes.
Personally we think they're amazing. It's a little awkward if you recline the back without a foot stool, but that's easily solved with a cooler or folding camp stool or something. We've been using them for years now and have had family members that have tried them and ran out to buy one.
Didn't those get recalled because the legs collapse?
zero clue, but I found them in clearance about 3 months ago. Gave it a try at 30. So the hooking system is terrible. Weirdly the recline on this one is not as good as the rio brand ones. I have 2 of the rio ones, and one super expensive Nemo one.
Fyi this one is terrible. I returned it. It too easily unlocks. The Costco one or Sam's club one is tons better.
I've been reading a bunch a people saying the Rio ones at Costco randomly tear/break and had a recall. One person even said they had a concussion because it broke while they were rocking and leaning back on it. Personally, I wouldn't take the risk with the Rio brand.

Wasn't a recall but Costco did send a notice saying to ensure the pins were fully inserted and secured before using. We have 2 of the high back Rio ones and love them.
Whatever you do never try out this chair on a cement floor. Someone had not set it up right and i fell really hard on my tailbone when i leaned back. I was taking baby steps in extreme pain for a week.
I have one of these and used it as an indoor swing for my kids during the peak of covid. Haven't really sat in it myself but the kids seem to love it. I usually just sit in it for a second before the kids get in to make sure it's secure.
Ok. Got one and it's going back. Simply awful design for an adult. There's a great YouTube video review of this chair with a guy really trying to figure out how to use it and be comfortable. It's very entertaining and if I'd seen it before ordering I would have passed.

It doesn't need an engineer brain to figure out how to sit on a hammock.
