These are more comparable to Shinkos or a Dunlop Roadsmart - not that there's anything wrong with that. You just have to decide how godlike you are (or pretend to be) on the street. They have a more gentle slope (more U shape than V shape, generally speaking) so stability at average lean angles will be excellent, but ragged edge performance and direction changes will be compromised. Angel GT and Michelin Road tires are "better", sure - certainly far better in the wet. You just have to be the one to decide if they're $130+ better for you. I love my Q3+ and Road 5's, for reference.

My buddy went through several sets of 003's (a.k.a. 'corndogs') and was more than satisfied with them.

Why? What happened to you? Never mind, we should probably be talking about Kenda tires anyway.

I like Kenda on dirt and mountain bikes but not sure how they would be on the street. I am currently looking at either Angel GTs or Road 5/6.

A friend rode with Pilot Road 3 & 4 on his speed triple. Said they were way better than the ContiMotions that came on the bike.

$85 is a good price for a rear sport tire.

Well I am god so will have to go with others... Wink

I am currently on S22s and they are fine but I've only been through twisties on them in light rain. Need to replace the front very soon. I'll probably go with Angels, since they are about a $100 less for the set and all folks I talked to like them. Road is definitely a safe choice, can't go wrong with Michelin... had Road 2s and 3s on my old bike. Very good tires.

I've had really good service out of the Shinko 705s and 244s (just installed the 244s a few weeks ago and they're good on the street).

Shinko tires are far worse than Bridgestone Battleax. I'm changing back to Bridgestone when my current Shinko is done. *Only exception is if you are ONLY highway commuting then go for it.

Combo front and rear is slightly cheaper than buying separately:

Only 1 front tire size though; 120/70ZR-17. $150 for a combo set for my bike is a steal even if I only get 5,000mi out of the rear.

I have angel GTs on my zx12r. They replaced my pilot road 3s. Pilot road 3s were superior in the rain to the Angels. The Angels are slightly stickyer to me in the dry. If I did more rain riding then I would definitely go pilot road. Can't tell the difference between wet and dry with the pilots. Definitely can tell that the Angels are not as sticky when the rain falls but they are superior when the sun and the cleavage is out. Wait, you never asked for my opinion. Lol

Pilot roads and Angels are well worth the money if one wants to have mythical performance in the rain.
