The speakers on the flex 5 and the 6800 definitely weren't their strongest points. They produce tiny sounds... I do also own the Asus 17.3. Those speakers are great in comparison. Both in volume and sound quality.
How would you compare the two? I see the Flex 5 for $219 now? I do see that the Flex 5 is not all aluminum like the C13. If they are comparable, then for $150 the C13 is the better deal of course!

I have the 6800 and so far, it's built like a tank. There's no drift and all the buttons work well, the trackpad works along with its buttons. Only thing that annoys me is that it doesn't have rubber bumpers on the keyboard deck so as when you flip the screen completely around, there is nothing to protect the keyboard if you lay it on a table, like the Acer 513 has.

The flex 5 was/ is ~$100 open box pending availability. The open box- satisfactory I got was almost brand new. The 6800 being part of the thinkpad line, I would assume the bar is higher on build quality, but build of the flex 5 was very similar. I thought it had aluminum chassis when I had it, maybe I was wrong. The flex 5 came into discussion as the other SDer awaits their 6800/6900 to be shipped, and I was letting them know how similar the two felt.

exactly. for the flex 5, its kinda weird for that tiny sound though. anything under 50% of the volume is like its coming out from the headset. meanwhile, the asus produces a killing crispy loud sound even at 15%.

Ah, ok. I also am waiting on the 6900 but hedge my bet and got the 6800 when it came back in stock. I'm in no hurry to get another Chromebook so I can wait for the 6900 and don't need to get the Flex 5 just because either. In regards to the sound, yeah, it sounds loud enough but as loud as my cell phone.

My 6800 has arrived. PM me if you want to pick it up in SF bay area (SJ) for $170. The package is unopened.

Btw: Lenovo warranty is tied to the machine and is determined by the system type and serial number. The warranty is with the system, not the individual owner. So it comes with full 1-year warranty.

Some pros for the Flex 5:
  • More powerful processor
  • 32GB emmc can be swapped out for nvme drive
  • WiFi 6
I decided to roll the dice and pick one up locally for $98

If anyone is looking for a case/sleeve for theirs, I ordered two of these and they showed up at the same time as both my Chromebooks. Fits great!

turn it over, look for Al lettering. There is a faint red line which is part of the pen which will slide out.

Another good point is it has an Intel Wi-Fi card, which is much better than the Killer modules that often come in less expensive laptops.
How do you know it comes with an Intel Wifi card? I thought the specs said it was a Realtek one (RealTek Wireless RTL8822CE 2x2 AC & Bluetooth 5.0).

guys see how the inside looks like.
definitely onboard storage. I don't see any m.2 drive

at least it is easy to open up. nothing upgradable
(there is nothing, no drive under that black flap on the bottom)
According to the service manual, the WiFi card under the mylar by the fan should be upgradable
