$70 is with ads just to note.
Worth it with Amex $25 offer?
I have the half off deal, and I am honestly having a hard time justifying that. I haven't watched anything on HBO/MAX for a couple of months.

I read when viewing hbo originals through the hub they are ad free, like GOT. Maybe someone can confirm.

Still wish they had gone ahead with the Wonder Twins movie - it could have been hilarious!

I just renewed with the Amex offer and even at $80 net (plus tax on $105) it was hard to justify renewing for so little new/interesting content. It seems like there are too many services and too little interesting content these days.

Anyway, thanks OP.

I am going to wait, I believe with the economy imploding there will be super deals on streaming services coming soon. Plus, they don't really have much worth watching right now. Back when they were offering same-day movie releases with WB it was a much more compelling offer.

Can the AmEx offer be used on 9/15 or is it expired the day before on 9/14?
I just used it today. And within a couple minutes I got this email from Amex: Great news! You recently used your Amex Offer at HBO.
So it's $63 for a year, stacked with Racooten's CB.

If you're on the fence, I 'think' another Amex offer will pop back up before the HBO deal ends on Oct. 31. Amex has a rewards promo called 'Member Week' from Oct. 10 to the 14th and HBO Max is one of it's sponsors.

I just used the amex offer for the ad free version that was showing me $105. They ended up charging my card $119. I know I was supposed to pay tax on that and all but that still seems really high. I called hbo support and was told it's all Florida taxes? Anyone else run into the same issue? Makes the amex offer redundant! 😠
