Sometimes they are in a rush so as soon as you say you are here to pick up, they will right away scan it and then the bag fee cannot be removed. So be clear and do this before they scan your order out.

It happens some on me, they just scan and let you go, when you ask no bags is too late

Is this a regional thing? Just did a pickup a few days ago and got it in a brown paper bag, but no bag fee.

They cannot edit the order once it's ready for pickup. I had substitutions on in case an item was out of stock and they ended up just not packing my order instead of substitutions I requested. I went into the store and told them to add my substitutions and they were not able to do so. The bag fee is ridiculous and the fact there is no way to request no bags is criminal. We shouldn't be subjected to pay a bag fee on top of tax that cannot be removed.
