I have this too, been using it for the last two years.

This has advantages over a 43" TV are the anti-glare, matte coating, built-in USB hub, USB-C input and Power delivery, and PIP support. The colors and brightness are decent, and the IPS panel allows you to sit close without off-axis degradation.

With that said, the HDR performance is garbage, so don't expect to be wowed by PQ. This is more for productivity than media consumption. If that is important, get a TV for way cheaper or the Samsung 43" monitor with a VA panel and built-in smart apps like Netflix.

Yeah. You can order it from their website (Beach Camera) for the same price though.

Honest question: what makes this a monitor and not a TV?

I have this monitor. It's decent but dpi is horrible so expect pixelation when up close.
You're so full of it. I use a 32" 4k 39" 4k and 50" 4k, none of them have "horrible" PIXELIZATION at all.

You would have to be under 2 feet away to even see most pixels under a 30° arc in contrast from each other on a standard rgb 8-bit 4:4:4 setting at 43"

How is 43" monitor use in a normal setup going to hurt your neck? You do know how to place the monitor in a proper location, right? I use 3 large 4k displays and mostly work with 2 of the 3 as I aim FWD + LEFT as I sit but looking at the third in my swivel chair really has ZERO level of pain for my neck, eyes etc... so ONE 43" monitor at 4k (4*1080p monitors) is 4 * 21.5" monitors. That's not nor has it ever been a neck killer.

My best Covid WFH investment was my 43-inch 4K monitor. You can't beat that on productivity. Apps no longer have to stack on each other. You can see them ALL.

Just run over to Wal-Mart and pickup any 43" hdtv for $200 and plug in the pc using hdmi and you can use any hdtv as a monitor.
..cheaper.
Going TV as a monitor route, make sure it has Chroma 4:4:4 to display all text properly. Google is your friend.

To the folks that have one of these monitors, do you lose a quarter of an inches per side because of the parallax gap between the LCD and the backlight?

Thought I'd share my impression of the monitor. Bought this two years ago, like a lot of the other SDers commenting here. This pretty much providers four, 21.5" full HD monitors at roughly 103DPI.

Cons:
- BGR subpixel layout, not RGB. Apparently both the 43" LG and Dell have this issue. Who decided to make the monitor this way and why? Makes the text seem a bit fuzzy. But you get used to it. It does help the DPI is on the higher side at 103. Somewhat mitigates the issue.
- Packaging is flimsy. First unit I received the screen was completely busted. Had to get a replacement. This seems to be a common issue.
- I have two of these monitors. One has a buzz when connected via USB-C. For that monitor, I have to use my own proprietary charger for the laptop. The other monitor is fine, no buzz.
- LG on-screen controls. No idea why there's such a big border around the application, when using this control. You can see the background since the quadrant isn't fully used for the application. Annoying. I don't use the app most of the time and just snap windows to the quadrants via the OS's layout functionality.

Pros:
- Built-in hub 65W PD via USB-C. Even if you have a laptop with 100+ W, as long as your CPU isn't constantly going full-tilt, it should keep your battery topped off.
- Good ergonomics. Not too much looking up/down/left/right to take in the entire screen. Prior to this monitor, I used two, 34" ultrawides, which gave me neck issues. Way too much horizontal to cover with this configuration.

Also, for the 700T-B model, with those corner leg stands, I recommend you replace those and get a real monitor stand (VESA 100, I think). The extra few inches of height helped to center the monitor for a better ergonomic experience.

Bottom line, even with all the nitpicking, productivity is great with this monitor. Recommended.

Don't get why people are saying this is too pixelated. At 43" 4k, it's essentially a 2x2 grid of four 22" 1080p monitors - which is super common in office setups. I'm a very discerning user (have 2 HP Z monitors which is HP's high-end line, and an Asus ProArt 27" 4K Calman-Certified monitor). I feel the pixel density on my 22" 1080p monitors are perfectly acceptable for office use.

Well what are you buying it for then? A 43-in monitor should at least have 120 her to 140 for Hertz to play your video games what are you buying it for then? At this high price?
It may come as a complete surprise to you, but some people use computer monitors for doing work. I, for example, use these sort of monitors to be able to see a lot of code without having to scroll.

i don't have this monitor but I do have the 43" Dell Ultrasharp which is also the same 4k resolution and IPS as well. My thoughts on this size and resolution: Not bad, but not nearly as productive for my workload as I thought. I would say two 27" at 2560x1440 is actually more productive if I'm going to be honest. If I had to do it over I would probably choose a curved 38" ultrawide over a flat 43" IPS.

if you are using 4 sources and displaying 4 images, it's equal to 4 21.5" 1080p monitors.
How big does the monitor need to be to get 27"?
