Our shop uses these type of ecoboxes. We're pretty heavy handed with them and they've never leaked. Some of them stay opened on the shelf for up to a year without issue.

I had not heard of this brand, so I looked at the Petroleum Quality Institute of America site. The additive packages look good for this oil:

For a modern synthetic that's very frequent and likely unnecessary oil changes. You should sample at your next change and send off for eval. I bet you are wasting a bunch of your time and money

Thanks for posting. I have an LS460L that takes 9 quarts of 0w-20…also an RX350 that takes 7. These boxes will give me 2 oil changes for the 2 cars.

This is about half the price of Kirkland and any other full synthetic oil I can find.

Looks like realistically 5w-30 was only ever available as conventional. super deal in 1992. Today not so much.

people don't change oil at 3k miles in the year 2022.

I use 6 gallon boxes of oil like this at work and honestly I prefer it over 55 gallon drums. I can't speak for these but at least with the ones I use at work when you shut off the valve it doesn't drip. I have a box that I think is about 5 years old and still works just fine.

I'm not sure I understand your logic.

If your oil "tests fine" then why would there be a buildup of carbon deposits of "old oil" in your engine clogging it up?

If your engine is burning oil and creating a buildup of deposits then changing the oil more frequently simply won't matter. It's just going to burn that oil and create deposits.

If your oil has a lot of deposits and no longer protects the engine then changing the oil more frequently will be good for your engine.
