Our shop uses these type of ecoboxes. We're pretty heavy handed with them and they've never leaked. Some of them stay opened on the shelf for up to a year without issue.

I had not heard of this brand, so I looked at the Petroleum Quality Institute of America site. The additive packages look good for this oil:

In their defense, Toyota has made some junkers also.

that 2.4 4 cylinder they put in Camrys and the Scion line is well known to burn oil like a tanker. In fact, I have an example sitting right out on the street. My Scion XB work vehicle (100,000) burns 1 quart every 1000 miles. I also know others using the same Toyota engine, also burn tons of oil.

got the 2007 scion tc yes 1000 miles loses a quart beats draining the oil lol

Went through several of these boxes, used to pick them up from RelaDyne when I lived in NM, had zero issues with oil dripping out of the spigot. If you ever use one of those quick oil change places, where you stay in your car while they change your oil, you might notice some of those places have a big rack of these boxes.

The safety data sheet lists the color as "Amber" and not black as on the Grainger site. It also lists some info on the blend composition:

I agree, but savings do not matter much if you're not going to use that much oil let alone store it long enough to use.


If you do 1 or 2 oil changes a year wait for a rebate. If you do 5-10 then a deal like this is super hot. Smilie

My boss asked me when the XB last got an oil change. I told him it's changing all the time. Fortunately, I found out about these and had bought myself a Honda instead.
