Buca di Beppo gift cards are a joke. They cannot be used with any other discount which is usually better than the discount on the gift card.
"Not valid with any other offers, discounts, deals or promotions."
This month, the coupon is $20 off a $40 purchase. Plus, you can get 5% back if paying with Discover (this quarter).
arn't these the standard redenption rates?
If buying any of the restaurant gift cards, keep in mind that you're already getting 5% cash back at restaurants with Discover this quarter, so you're actually wasting 5% of the value of the gift card discount - unless you wait to use them after 9/30.

Or you may have a card like Altitude Go which has 4% all year round. Honestly, these cards are the best to give as gift cards. I do that for the kid's teachers etc.
So you're saying you can't use a coupon if you're at the register paying with a gift card?!? That just doesn't sound right! Then again, I never heard of the place and don't shop there, so I don't know squat about them!
Re: Bucca di Beppo: That is exactly what I'm saying - I found out the hard way. We liked going there, so I decided to buy some discounted gift cards to save even more when using one of their promos (may have been a BOGO deal). Handed the server their GC and was told I had to choose between the promo or the GC. Took quite a while to go through the GC's after that because their promos were always better than the 20-25% discounted GC's.
Current promotion has this disclaimer on the coupon: "Not valid with cash transactions or discounted gift cards. Not valid with any other offers, discounts, deals or promotions. One coupon per table/transaction." Note: I don't understand the part about cash - makes no sense whatsoever.
Yep. Not sure why no one checks their cashback bonus to figure it out.
If necessary, the cashback is best applied to your balance, but if not desperate, then they actually give you a few bucks to use a gift card. I redeem mine for the grocery store - makes the most sense.

I hold mine until these come out. I've burnt through most of my discover at this point.
Hmm weird, I just redeemed Bath and Body works and got in on the $2.95 hand soaps... was getting $125 for $100 -- isn't that 25% more? whatever, I'll take it!

I think its actually more at 25% discount from the 20% list the OP metioned. I would change title
You may need a Discover Credit card that allows you to earn points per purchase. Discover IT card is what I have.
Discover IT is available in two varieties - miles or points. I started with the miles card then switched over to the points card last year. Didn't need to apply for a new account or anything like that, just called up and asked to be switched over to the points card. They mailed me a new card and it took effect with the next billing cycle.

I'm not sure, I never used the miles, they converted to points when I switched
