This thing once it get heat up it will cause all kind of problems. Hdmi connect and doesn't connect. Ethernet speed drop lower than using the wifi connection.

Anyone buying for a steam deck be careful as some docks seem to be bricking decks. I'm not saying this one will. Just a heads up.

VGA is completely unnecessary and a negative feature in 2022.

Such dock can easily get hot and didn't delivery full power. It can cause instability to MacBook pro.

Shame to hear that something more portable than the traditional dock seems to have a lot of issues... I have an old thinkpad that surely doesn't have USB C, but I'd like a smaller dock solution for it. I have one of the bigger ones that sit under the thinkpad, and that will probably suffice... I guess a powered USB hub would also mostly serve my needs as well

When used for business presentations you'd be surprised how many conference rooms still have a VGA hookup on a connection plate or projector. Lots of folks fall back to it if the room isn't setup for HDMI or Cast/Airplay. They're putting it on there for convenience for that kind of customer, and because it's cheap to do.
