Anyone have opinions on Fidelity, particularly the cash management account as a primary checking? Their interest rate is decent for checking (1.2%) which is a far cry from USAA which is miniscule since I earned something like 67 cents in interest last year! Thanks.

I'm thinking of opening a Roth account, too, do it might a good opportunity to make a change.

I opened my IRA account on 17-Aug and funded it. Received my $100 yesterday. Easy peasy.

I last opened one Feb 2nd, and after going partway through the process got a notice that I'm not eligible. The terms don't state anything about how long you have to wait though

In the TnC it's stated that "Individuals who took advantage of Fidelity's previous $50 for $100 offer will not be eligible for this offer."
I think it's once per person.

I have a fidelity account already for myself and my kids. My husband needs a Roth IRA though so this is perfect motivation. Anyone know if I can open this for him under my log-in, or does he need his own?

I think the login is connected with SSN and so your husband may need to have his own id. This is my guess and I hope someone who has real experience can chime in here.

The IRA must be opened under his own SSN/log-in.

Afterwards, he can setup https://www.fidelity.com/customer...s-overview from his account to yours, so you will see what's happening in his account when you login as yourself.

Thanks for this! I ended up opening the Roth IRA under my account and just linking his bank account (which I'm also on) to it. Then I gave him full authority over my account as well so he has the access to it. I didn't know you could do that so thank you!

I have our triplets' 529 account in there so it's better he has access to them too.
