I own this, for my usage it does MORE than enough. But there are reviews stating the recycling is a bit long and I've seen something about overheating. The quality is top notch

I own the manual version (3x of them) and really love this one. The $669 is a little tough since I recall these have sold for much less on black Friday (the manual and the TTL versions), but maybe prices have gone up.

I've had these for about 4-5 years, had 1 bulb break ($100) and one board go out ($150 repair), but they've otherwise held up.

I do get misfires though, even in a studio setting (where 2 will go off but not the 3rd), so if you need something to work 100% (or even 95%) of the time, this might not be it.

.
The light by itself haven't gone below $669 but the lowest for the Glow Parapop light box and C-stand kit was $599 in 2019. I've 2 Pro TTL and 1 HSS and November seem to have the best sale. I added the remote for $10 and $20 with the kit.

Do you notice a difference in the pro and HSS?

Both the 600pro and 300pro are onsale now, which one should I buy? I am not a photographer, just like to have a light for casual use.

You'll want the 600 if you want to overpower the sun during the day as the 300 won't have enough power to do it.

There's never been a manual only version of the PRO model. You must be referring to the original AD600 strobe which they did offer a manual only and TTL version and is a very good light. You can still get that original model for $550 retail though it dips down in the $400's when it goes on sale

I have the 200, 400 and 600 pros. It really depends on what you plan on doing. If your going to the Beach 600 is best. The 400 is good where you dont need the power. The 200 is a very good walk around flash. Get a small light stand, a parapop and you have avery nice portable light set up. Remember the difference in light output is not immense. Move your light 4 feet closer and lots of times thats the difference. The 300 is an odd duck size. Its way bigger then 200 for not much more light. Its not immensely smaller then the 400 for less light. I do get misfires with these lights. Its best to search for clear channels when setting up transmitter before a shoot. Now for my thoughts. They are nice flashes but if I had it to do over again, I would buy the Westcott lights. My problem with Flashpoint is that they are more complex to use. When you experience a hicup it will be harder to figgure out quickly. Ex. I own Interfit Flashes too. I use these over the Flashpoints. Why, they are simple, they do the same, have a 4 page manual instead of 30 pages. I turn HSS on in my Nikon and the flash talks to my camera and I have to do nothing else but shoot. No so with Flashpoint. Dont get me wrong. Im in Love with the 200pro. The 400 and 600. Too many misfires and when they hicup, I just dont have time to spend 5 to 10 minutes trying to figure what went wrong in the flash or trigger.

Im not sure your understanding this right. All Flashes are manual to start. If I put a pocket wizard on this flash, itis indeed a manual flash. If I use Flashpoints basic transmitter without all the settings, again its a manual flash. It becomes an automatic when you have the right transmitter and set it up specifically to be automatic. Ex HSS and TTL. Out of the box its manual.

Actually, I'm not sure that you're understanding what I was talking about. Godox originally released two versions of the AD600, a fully manual version with no TTL capabilities, and another version with TTL capabilities (and yes it could obviously be used fully manual as well). This was good for those that don't need TTL capabilities as it was a lot cheaper for the manual only model. The newer 600pro only has one model which has TTL capabilities. This is what I was explaining in my post. I'm not sure what you're meaning when you say 'automatic'. Are you meaning TTL? When you say 'HSS' I only assume you mean high speed sync, in which case both original models can do HSS.

I've worked professionally with my Godox lights (2x 600, 2x 200, 4x v860ii) going on 4 years now with no issues at all. Yes, I've seen random misfires, but they're rare and I'm very happy to work with them. Before using Godox exclusively, I've shot with Prophoto, Alien bees, Westcott, & now Godox (Flashpoint) and I just like the simplicity of the Godox lights.
